O’ Brien’s family run bar is a must in Rosscarbery, for traditional music and sport it’s the place to be!
Situated in the picturesque square of Rosscarbery O’ Brien’s Bar, formally known as “Murphy’s” was purchased by Pascal & Mary Rose O’ Brien in December 2001
Visiting or just passing through this is the place to stop in winter or in summer. The bar boasts many features such as the traditional large stone fireplace by which to warm yourself in winter or the pretty beer garden at the rear, an area in which to enjoy a cool drink on a warm summer day. For those that want to come into contact with a part of the history of this old town, numerous historical photographs adorn the walls of the bar. These walls also are host to a great collection of photos illustrating local GAA memories throughout the years.
However O’ Brien’s are not just interested in sporting events from the past, with live sports being shown on their wide screen televisions. What ever the sporting event the atmosphere in O’ Brien’s will be host to a thrilling atmosphere, should the game allow it, so whoever your team is, if you are in Rosscarbery this is the place to catch the match.
This bar is equipped to keep its patrons busy with facilities such as a dartboard and a jukebox – you will never have a dull moment. Come the weekends the sounds of the jukebox are replaced by live traditional music performed. So whether you’re looking for a piece of history, a chat with the locals or just a great pint, you’re sure to find it in O’Brien’s.
